The aims of the scholarship programme at Sibford School are:
• To encourage students who are exceptionally gifted and talented to join the school.
• To recognise outstanding talent within the school at key transition stages.
• To continue the school’s long tradition of providing public benefit. There are three categories of scholarship:
• Academic: where a student shows exceptional academic ability and potential.
• Talent: Art, Drama, Music, Sport (including climbing, triathlon and equestrian).
• All Rounder: where a student demonstrates significant intellectual potential as well as providing evidence of exceptional talent in a particular discipline.
Scholarships are available to new pupils entering Sibford Senior School in Year 7, Year 9, Year 10 and to those entering Sixth Form in Year 12.
Scholarships are also available to existing Sibford School pupils currently in Year 6 or Year 11 as they are in transition to the Senior School and Sixth Form respectively.
In exceptional circumstances Sibford School will consider offering a scholarship to a student who is already at the School and who has shown exceptional progress and commitment to a subject.
Scholarships are always an honorary award. However, for exceptional pupils, at the Head’s discretion, the award may represent a financial reduction equivalent to the value of up to 10% of day fees. Support may also be offered for music lessons, LAMDA awards or similar.
