teams up with WIPN Guards Polo Club

Ladies polo is increasing in popularity across the globe, including here at Smith’s Lawn. To reflect this development of the game, Guards Polo Club is supporting the newly created Women’s International Polo Network (WIPN). This not-for-profit organisation aims to highlight the women’s game and enable lady players and influential clubs to work together to create a digital network of invaluable contacts and a global calendar of women’s tournaments. The WIPN was founded earlier this year by a group of American lady players,

leading including Erica Gandomcar-Sachs, Pamela

Flanagan, Courtney Asdourian, Kim DeLashmit, Taylor Scilufo, and Elizabeth Humphreys. Each of them has brought a unique set of skills to the table to help build the project. Two further founder members of the WIPN, Cecilia Cochran and Dawn Jones, are already familiar with the polo fields of Guards Polo Club as they were in action on The Duke’s Ground this summer, playing for the East Coast Polo Association Team in its Combined Services Trophy match. The organisation’s initial focus is to build an online community

that includes detailed player profiles. Its website also provides a comprehensive resource for the ladies’ game and hopes to inspire more of the sport’s governing bodies and leading clubs around the world to encourage and promote ladies’ polo. It even offers a useful checklist for those clubs who are looking to host a tournament. For more information go to www.wipnpolo.com

can then send out the relevant forms and amend the Club's database so that our 75+ members are charged the correct rate in the future. It is important that you notify the Club in plenty of time to allow the accounts team to amend the new season’s direct debit, which is sent out in late January.
