Down Under has been the traditional winter polo destination for English players for many years, not least due to some impressive sporting establishments – such as the Packer family's HQ in New South Wales (Ellerston) which is now managed by our former Polo Manager Glen Gilmore. Polo starts in the southern hemisphere in October, playing through until late April, so provides plenty of opportunity to play under the sun before the UK season kicks off once more.
Auckland POLO CLUB
his club was one of the first to be created in New Zealand. Now the home of the New Zealand Open, Auckland Polo Club offers polo four times a week in its impressive location, set among the gum trees along the banks of the Wairoa River in Cleveland. Of course, this club’s location means that the biggest city on the North Island is never too far away for
added attractions, making a trip to Auckland Polo Club an essential part of any New Zealand vacation. Polo is played here from November to March. www.aucklandpolo.co.nz
