THE COUNTESS BATHURST L AUNCHES 2019 CIRENCESTER CHARITY CALENDAR

The Countess Bathurst, of Cirencester Park, has launched a brand-new charity calendar using the incredible power of Facebook which she hopes will raise over £10,000 in it's first year.

The hugely popular local Facebook page, ‘Cirencester a Local Town for Local People', or ‘CATFLAP' as Lady Bathurst fondly calls it, has nearly 10,500 followers and frequently sees locals uploading stunning photographs they have taken in and around the area, as well as the breath-taking Bathurst Estate. The incredible talent of many of these amateur photographers and the evident passion they have for the town caught Lady Bathurst's attention and inspired her to use the Facebook group to create a Cirencester charity calendar.

Lady Bathurst recalls: ‘For many years I've wanted to produce a calendar for charity using photographs I've taken of our family estate but have never found the time to put it together. When I joined the local Facebook Page I saw all the wonderful photographs taken by the community and realised there was an unending supply of talent from which I could make the ultimate local publication.'

Undeterred by her already packed schedule of charity work, running her new coffee shop business, and her intensive day-to-day schedule, Lady Bathurst decided to make the charity calendar come to life. Adam Vines of Lounge Design quickly came on board to support the project, helping to create the calendar; swiftly followed by Jered Bolton who designed a website to drive sales and Kevin Hutchinson of Busy Fingers, a local printer who produced everything at cost. This assistance, coupled with the generous sponsorship of local companies, has made this a true community effort.

The members of the Facebook group have been closely involved every step of the way, not only providing the images but also nominating and voting for the charities, choosing the front cover and promoting the sales by stocking them in shops and businesses throughout the town. The end result is a glorious visual tribute to Cirencester with three deserving local charities benefitting from the profits of every sale. ‘Shine Cirencester', ‘Oak and Furrows' and ‘Cirencester Open Air Swimming Pool' will all enjoy the proceeds from the calendar. The calendars can be bought from a host of local outlets across the area, or visit www.cirencestercalendar.co.uk to purchase online at £7.50 plus shipping.
