Dedicated Dry Eye Service Do you suffer from Dry Eye?

Dry Eye is a condition where you may not be making enough tears or the tears you produce are of a poor quality.

Tears are important as they help to keep the surface of your eyes moist and lubricated. If your tears are of poor quality, this can lead to symptoms of dryness, burning stinging or a gritty sensation. It can also cause blurred or smeary vision.

Dry eye can be caused by age, hormonal changes, general health issues such as rheumatoid arthritis and certain types of medications.

BBR Optometry can help you assess and treat the condition.

We provide a dedicated Dry Eye Service to assess the severity of your condition, diagnose the root cause and prescribe the appropriate treatment plan.

Tear Clinic

Our Tear Clinic will identify if you have conditions linked to Dry Eye, such as Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, allowing our optometrists and eye care specialists to create a plan to prevent long-term complications.

We will evaluate your dry eye using a Tear Lab osmolarity test to measure the amount of salt in your tears. This determines the stability of your tear film. We can image the meibomian glands which produce your oily tears using the LipiView II Dynamic Meibomian Imaging technology, along with assessing your eyelashes, lids and ocular surface.

An appropriate treatment plan will be tailored to you. E-Eye technology

Using the latest technology, our new E-Eye device generates a sequence of regulated light pulses that stimulate the Meibomian glands to produce their own natural, healthy tears.

Our optometrists will assess whether E-Eye is a suitable treatment as part of the Dry Eye Service.

Please contact BBR Optometry to make an appointment on 01432 265030 or email enquiries@bbroptometry.co.uk
