Motown fans of yesteryear who witnessed the debuts of soul legends Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder in Birmingham and the Black Country in the 1960s, are being asked to share their stories. More than 50 years ago the


music icons were just embarking on their careers when they hit the stage at Wolverhampton’s Gaumont Cinema and Birmingham’s Odeon in Spring 1965 as part of the Tamla Motown Revue Show. The tour, which also featured


Smokey Robinson and The Miracles and Martha and The Vandellas, played across 18 cities including the dates in Birmingham on 25 March and Wolverhampton on 10 April, and gave audiences their first chance to hear the then fledgling stars. Tickets to the once-in-a-lifetime

Birmingham-based Hart Recruitment has been recognised by their peers in the industry with two awards at the ‘TEAM’ annual national networking conference. TEAM is a network made up of independent recruitment and employment businesses across the UK.


At the latest awards, Hart won the


‘Member of the Year’ award and the ‘TEAM Split Fee’ award. Hart founder Phillippa Hart said:

Paul survives grilling by young interviewer


How would you explain your business to an eight-year-old? Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce chief executive Paul


Faulkner gave it a go when he was interviewed by eight-year-old Charlotte Hale from Sutton Coldfield. Charlotte quizzed the Chamber boss about the inner workings of


the organisation – and also threw in a few curveball questions! Paul said: “I don’t think I’ve ever been so terrified in my life about

of ‘Motown The Musical’ opens its first ever UK tour at Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre in October,


producers want to hear from anyone who attended either show. They are being asked to share their


tales in a bid to win three pairs of tickets to see ‘the musical during its run from 11 October to 3 November.
