The Hub Events Round-up Post-event reports and news of forthcoming events Patrons take to historic waterways

Led by the Canal and River Trust’s chairman, Peter Mathews, Waterway manager, Ian Lead, and enterprise team manager Jason Leech, patrons docked a canal boat from Brindleyplace to the historic Roundhouse. Mr Mathews said: “We wanted to highlight to

patrons the opportunities that the canals in Birmingham can bring to businesses, including especially the visitor experience. “The canals in Birmingham date back 250

years to the industrial revolution, especially in Birmingham and the Black Country. “It’s not known that the canals and tow paths

are free to use by everyone, and with many activities including cycling, walking and even canoeing underlining the Canal and River Trust a place to advocate wellbeing and keeping fit. “The more businesses understand about the

canals in the region, the more they can be used and understood for the future.”
