INBUSINESS VIEWPOINT

Last year we launched one of the most important initiatives in the history of our Chamber – Next Generation Chamber. We were confident that we could provide a valuable platform

to help young aspiring business people in the area to grow and develop into the business leaders of the future but even we have been taken aback by the speed of its growth. In under a year we have attracted around 100 members from

across all sectors in Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes who have been drawn to our exciting mix of networking events and personal development sessions. The networking events offer members the opportunity to

share knowledge and experiences with their peers in a relaxed and informal environment while the Personal Development sessions deliver sessions aimed at developing essential business and leadership skills. Members have learned from business leaders and worked with their peers to develop

new skills, knowledge and best practice and the feedback we have received from them has been extremely positive. Following a competitive recruitment process this summer several members have formed Next Generation Chamber’s first committee. It has recently held its first meeting and it is already clear that our new committee is bursting with enthusiasm and ideas about how they would like to see this platform develop even further. Unsurprisingly, the vibrancy of the group has also caught the attention of a number of

large organisations in the area that were keen to play a more active role in its development. As a result I am thrilled to announce that

top 40 accountancy firm Mercer & Hole and the University of Northampton have become the first patrons of Next Generation Chamber. We are proud that such respected and

well-known organisations are backing us in our efforts to foster a dynamic set of business leaders who will take our economy from strength to strength.
