WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND? Twenty-three years in sales with The Guardian Newspaper Group and FTSE 100 companies like Informa. Since 2011 I have also been coaching and training sales teams.


WHAT DOES YOUR COMPANY DO? Expert sales coaching and training that helps businesses grow and make profit. Everybody works in sales, yet most people don’t know how to sell, so I help bridge that gap.


HOW DID IT ALL START? I was unemployed and had no qualifications, so spent several hours in the sun waiting to speak to the boss of a big publishing house. Thankfully, she admired my tenacity and gave me a chance.


WHAT’S YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR? In March, my book, Everybody Works in Sales, reached #98 on Amazon and stayed in the top 100 for six weeks. I did spend two months selling it non-stop, however, to achieve this and outperform publishing heavyweights and TV personalities was an honour.


WHAT IS THE BIGGEST RISK YOU’VE EVER TAKEN – AND DID IT WORK OUT? Leaving a well-paid corporate job to set up on my own. Everybody said I was making a mistake but I’ve never been happier since I’m making a positive difference to people’s lives.


WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU MOST IN YOUR JOB? People who run their own businesses are amazing. Unless you run your own business, you have no idea how tough and stressful it is.


WHAT EXCITING PROJECTS IS YOUR BUSINESS OFFERING AT THE MOMENT? I gave a sales masterclass to Natwest in July which was fun because my sales training is interactive and has accelerated learning. I’m planning my own sales masterclasses and online sales programme in Q4.


WHAT MADE YOU JOIN MILTON KEYNES CHAMBER? Met Simon Elton, thought he was great. Having worked my adult life in London, I didn’t know anyone in MK and being a member has been a great way to connect with others in the community.
