Primary Hockey Level 3 Winter Games
Corsham School hosted the Winter School Games Primary hockey competition on 24 March. The primary school children taking part were lucky enough to use the Secondary school’s excellent facilities. The Astro turf pitches were ideal for the competition. Andy Blackmore from England Hockey was supported at the event by Wiltshire and Swindon Sport staff, 4 volunteer umpires, 2 coaches from Chippenham
Hockey Club and 4 Young Sports Leaders from Corsham School.
The officials enabled the event to run smoothly and the umpires received lots of compliments for their handling of the young children.

match between the 3rd and 4th place teams which they did brilliantly.
The staff from Corsham School were very helpful too so a big thank you to everyone who helped on the day.
The weather was varied from brilliant sunshine to a really heavy hail storm causing the games to be abandoned for a while until it cleared.
Feedback from several schools was that they had a great day. With comments like “The children had a wonderful day of hockey, thoroughly enjoying every moment in what can truly be described as ‘challenging conditions’!” “Thanks again for a fab tournament run today”

Netball Level 3 Winter Games
The 17 Young Sports Leaders from Devizes School did a great job in umpiring and scoring the matches with volunteers from the County Association on hand to lend their experience and expertise.
Primary Netball There were some very close games but All Cannings stood out from the start as the team to beat and were eventually crowned winners.
Schools that took part; Ramsbury, Woodborough,
Woodford Valley,Bitham Brook, Paxcroft, New Forest, Winterslow, All Cannings, Monkton Park, Lethbridge, Lawn.
Results; 1st All Cannings 2nd – New Forest
Secondary Netball In both the U/13 and U/15 the group stages produced close matches.
Two of the four semi finals had to go to extra time. This continued into the finals with them all being very closely fought.
In a very exciting finale Godolphin came from behind against South Wilts Grammar to win the U/13 in the final few seconds.

Mo Squires from the County Netball Association was impressed by the standard of play and was very pleased to present the medals and trophies. Wiltshire and Swindon Relay 5
South Wilts Grammar won the U/15 against Sheldon in a very close game that ended 4 -2.
U/15 Results; 1st – South Wilts Grammar 2nd - Sheldon

Rugby 7s Level 3 Winter Games
It was a cold, grey day at the Level 3 county Rugby 7s finals hosted by Royal Wootton Basset RFC which have great facilities to host such an event. The well organised successful competition was delivered by the RFU. The standard of play was really high across all those that took part and the final games were really exciting and close.
