Basketball Level 3 Winter Games Girls Competition

Events like this cannot run without the young volunteers support and them giving up their time to help at the event.

The 2015 School Games Level 3 Boys Basketball competition was kindly hosted by St John’s School Marlborough.

This year saw 5 schools qualify with 52 athletes taking part. The competition was very even and each match was hard fought until the end with several ‘Golden Goals’ to decide the winners.

There were 4 young volunteers from St John’s who were running

The official referees and Vince Mamott enabled the competition run smoothly and made sure the boys enthusiasm did not spill over, so making the games tense but exciting and fun for all involved. There was a really good atmosphere amongst the school showing great teamwork and passion for the sport.

As always with the School Games competitions we cannot run them without support from School Games organisers, teachers and young volunteers.

There were 3 Young Leaders from St Johns school who gave up their day to help officiate and referee along with a student from Bath Uni. We would like also to say a big thank you to Matt Analts who delivered the successful event.

KS4 Girls Winners - Isambard School Young Volunteer Officials

The snow arrived overnight but did not stop anyone getting to Tidworth Leisure Centre were the event was being held. A fantastic effort from everyone meant we were still able to complete on time.

There were 85 players, from 10 different schools, with 19 Young Volunteers helping to make the day possible by officiating the games. The play was of a good standard across the board and we saw some terrific matches.
