On Wednesday 8th October, Devizes School Sports Network (DSSN) organised and ran the KS2 Football School Games Competition. This competition was open to schools outside of the DSSN programme. 15 teams entered the event, meaning that 150 students participated!! Well done to every student who participated, they showed an outstanding level of fair play throughout the competition. The tournament was split between a girls competition and a Mixed competition. Thank you to Lavington School for supplying the leaders, to the teachers for organising their teams so efficiently and to the parents for supporting their children!

The Sainsbury’s School Games Mark is owned and created by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and is implemented and developed by the Youth Sport Trust and Sport England.

The Mark rewards school for their commitment to and the development of competition, school sport and physical education and was first launched in June 2012 via the Sainsbury’s School Games website.

19 Swindon schools have been nationally recognised for the work they are doing and have been awarded a School Games Mark. This isn't an easy thing to achieve and we have had a very high amount - including 2 gold awards.

"This is great news for Swindon and just an example of the exciting work that is going on locally to enhance school sport. We have a very comprehensive calendar
