Wiltshire and Swindon Framework for PE and School Sport
The Framework for PE and School Sport has been produced by a range of key stakeholders including teachers and subject specialists, sports development professionals and those involved in Public Health.
It seeks to promote every child's right to a healthy and happy life focusing
on the value of PE and school sport in closing the inequalities gap, improving life chances and making a positive impact on many of the wider challenges facing schools.

Bradon Forest New Sports Facilities
At the end of June, WASP was pleased to be invited to the official opening of Bradon Forest School’s new state of the art Sports Hall and Training Room facility. Wiltshire’s Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton and local sports heroes, Laura Halford and Grant Turner conducted the ceremony. Ex-Bradon
Forest Head Girl, Laura, is a British Champion gymnast and represented Wales in the Commonwealth Games. Grant, who also attended the school, won relay silver in swimming at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and represented Team GB at London 2012 Olympics. Other attendees at the event included James Gray, the MP for North Wiltshire, local community users of the sports hall and staff from the Athelstan Multi Academy Trust. The new facility is to be used for WASP’S Emergency First Response (Primary Care) courses during 2017 – 18.

Mid Wilts Open Cross Country
The inaugural Mid Wilts Open Cross Country was hosted by Heywood Prep at the Biddestone Sports Ground on 3rd October.
Over 150 runners from 9 schools entered the event, with primary schools coming from Calne,Chippenham and Corsham.
There were 4 races in total with the year 3 / 4 girls and boys events running over 1.2km whilst the year 5 / 6 boys and girls ran 1.6km.
Overall the team winners were Ivy Lane School with Heywood Prep coming second and St Peters third.

Biddestone Sports Ground for allowing use of the ground, Paul Wickens, the School Games Organiser for Mid Wilts , and all the staff and parents who helped make the event run so smoothly.
