Rugby at The Clarendon Academy


Rugby this term has come on leaps and bounds. The season started with the year 11s going away to Devizes and coming away 50-27 victors. This was followed by victories from both the year 8s and year 10s.


The year 8s have carried on their winning run throughout the whole of the first term with wins against St Augustine's and John Of Gaunt and also finished the term by winning the year 8 rugby tournament with excellent play throughout from Casey Pike and Leo Chivers. Rugby at Clarendon is ever expanding and we look forward to more fixtures after half term.

Swindon junior parkrun


On 15th October, there was a record 20,000 plus people participated at junior parkrun in the UK! We welcomed 16,332 runners and 3,673 volunteers across a record 181 events! You could be part of the Swindon junior parkrun which is a weekly free 2k timed run for juniors.


We welcomed 120 young runners on the 15th October in Swindon, even though the weather was not the best, everyone was full of giggles as they crossed the finish line. While we were running we could see the weekly football matches on the grass. Well done to the 21 new runners and to the 25 runners who achieved new Personal Bests.


What is Swindon junior parkrun? It is a 2k run for juniors only (4-14 year olds). If you are not a junior please


try one of our weekly Saturday parkrun events instead.


When is it? It is held every Sunday at 9:00am.


Where is it? The event takes place in Lydiard Park, Lydiard Tregoze, Swindon, SN5 3PA. See Course page for more details.


What does it cost to join in? Nothing - it's free! but please register before your first run. Only ever register with parkrun once. Don't forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder).


How fast do I have to be? The aim is to have fun. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!


We're friendly! Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in the Forest Café - please come and join us!


Join us as our first ever festive, family fun run!


With Christmas-themed costumes provided for both adults and children, this is the perfect winter run to get the whole family into the festive spirit!


Registration will start at 10.30am, followed by a warm up before the run starts at approximately 11.30am. Free parking is available on site.


Participants will be able to choose from two or three laps of the route. Please see our website for more information.


Please note, we will not be accepting registrations on the day of the event. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian who is over the age of 18.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 1 September. From then until Tuesday 31 October we are offering an early bird discount on all tickets!


Early bird adult (aged 16+) - £8 Early bird child (aged 3-15) - £6


Early bird family (2 adults and 2 children) - £22


From Wednesday 1 November, ticket prices will be as follows: Adult (aged 16+) - £10 Child (aged 3-15) - £8


Family (2 adults and 2 children) - £28


Tickets for St John's Academy pupils will be £6 throughout all names will be verified by the school prior to the run.
