DESIGNER: What is your ideal kitchen layout and ine nurtin BAINES: When it comes to layout, ample work surface is really important for me. I like to be surrounded by plenty of space to really indulge in the preparation and cooking of my food. In partilar, ’m really fond of island style kitchens and think that placement of the sink in the centre of the kitchen space is key to the smooth running of a kitchen. The heart of the kitchen is where all the preparation


(and washing up!) takes place whilst I prefer the cooking appliances to be positioned around the outer edges of the kitchen. For me, ovens above waist height is a must – it makes cooking much more ergonomic and convenient. In terms of storage, I very much favour open shelving over cupboards – again at eye level, for ease. A large roll in roll out pantry would also be an essential for me too.


DESIGNER: What kitchen appliance(s) could you


neer e ithut BAINES: First and foremost, a good quality coffee machine is something we oldn’t live withot a home. We also love our GROHE kettle hot water tap – a newer appliance to the maret, t definitely growing in popularity nonetheless. Investing in that was a real game changer for us. All our meals are labours of love but as a busy family and with the restaurants, time is not always on our side. Having kettle-hot water in an instant is the perfect


aide to cooking many quick and nutritious dishes, and even better that the quality of water is fresh and filtered.


DESIGNER: Which professional appliances and techniques do you feel should (or will!) make the trnsitin t the he BAINES: This is an easy one  Sos ide! t’s working its way into the market slowly but surely although not quite yet mass market.
