Board recruits young people’s ambassador
Elona Jetullahu (pictured), Marketing Executive at Enderby- based Mocha Marketing, has become the Young People’s Ambassador as part of Soft Touch Arts’ management board. Soft Touch Arts uses arts,
media and music to support disadvantaged young people, helping them develop creative, social and employability skills. Elona will keep track of the
activities young people take interest in at Soft Touch Arts, so the charity can continue to support their needs. Christina Wigmore, Director at
Soft Touch Arts, who mentored Elona during her internship, said: “We’re so pleased to welcome Elona back as Young People’s Ambassador. Having seen how hard Elona worked during her apprenticeship, we’re certain she will bring great passion and enthusiasm and be a strong advocate for young people we support.”
New Head Chef for Derby Conference Centre
Guests of The Derby Conference Centre are now enjoying a refreshed dining experience thanks to the launch of a range of new menus created by talented new Head Chef Matthew Slack. An experienced chef who has
worked his way up to senior positions in local restaurants, Matthew aims to create dishes using quality ingredients. Managing Director Mike Ebbitt
said: “We recently opened The Douie Suite and announced our return to the wedding market and the response was fantastic. Now, with our newly-renovated bar and bistro for Matthew and his team to serve, we are confident that we are able to uplift the quality of the cuisine offered.”

Melanie named Chair of D2N2 Growth Hub
D2N2 Growth Hub, the business support service for small and medium-sized enterprises in D2N2, has appointed Melanie Ulyatt MBE as its new Chair. Melanie, who is Managing Director of domiciliary care and training
provider – and Chamber member – One to One Support Services, has been a member of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board since 2016. She replaces David Williams, Director at fellow Chamber member 3w Growth, who served as Chair for the past three years and who oversaw the launch and establishment of the Growth Hub as a ‘go-to’ resource for business support in the D2N2 region (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire). Melanie said: “Since its launch in December 2014, the Growth Hub
has engaged with over 6,500 businesses. This is a terrific achievement but we know there are a lot more businesses to reach. “Our team of dedicated business advisers have a wide range
of support programmes to signpost businesses into including grant funding, mentoring, skills and training as well as general business advice and guidance. “I’m looking forward to seeing the Growth Hub go through
its own period of growth and in doing so help businesses in D2N2 to prosper and reach their full potential.” As well as working with the D2N2 Growth Hub, Melanie
has also worked with Sheffield City Region and the D2N2 Local Economic Partnership and was recently appointed as the National Vice Chairman of the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses). Chris Pook, D2N2 Growth Hub Manager, said:
“Having Melanie involved brings new opportunities for us to develop our support to local businesses, not least with her experience of running a business but also the insight she has from being a leader locally and nationally. We’re looking forward to working alongside Melanie and other colleagues to evolve the service to the business community.” The D2N2 Growth Hub is part-funded by the European
Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014- 2020.

Commercial refrigeration and air conditioning specialist PCPM is gearing up for a growth in business by promoting two key members of staff and appointing another. The Chesterfield-based firm has
made the moves to enable it to better accommodate a growth in both demand and new project contract wins. Over the years, it has worked on
more than 850 McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, and more than 230 Pizza Express outlets. It has seen turnover grow from £1.4m to £4.8m in the past four years and its employee headcount has grown from five to 11 since 2016. Operations Manager Ashley
Arundel has been promoted to Operations Director. Ashley has a Bachelor of Engineering from Leeds University and more than ten years of design and project management experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration sectors. His colleague Craig Smith has

been promoted to Senior Project Manager, where he will assume more responsibility within the air conditioning and ventilation side of the business. Craig spent seven years in the
Army as a communications operator before leaving to train as an air conditioning and ventilation engineer. He has been involved in several air conditioning installs
nationwide, including management of the McDonald’s fit-out programme for the north of the UK. Reporting into Craig as Project Manager is new recruit Chris Sharman, who has a a degree in Public Service Management from the University of Derby and has worked as a project manager on schemes for some of the biggest companies in the UK.
