MEMBERNEWS Notts County FC is a sleeping giant

Nottingham-based charity Notts County Football in the Community (NCFITC) has officially launched its third consecutive CEO Sleepout – with a significant number of participants already signed up to take part in this year’s fundraising event. The launch was attended by

representatives of the charity, as well as Notts County Football Club’s Chairman and Owner Alan Hardy – who will be sleeping rough again this year as part of the nationally-recognised initiative. Alongside Notts County FITC and

CEO Sleepout, Nottingham homeless charities Emmanuel House and The Friary have again been chosen as additional beneficiaries for the event and were also in attendance – as well as participants from last year’s sleepout and new participants for 2018. The CEO Sleepout will take place

on Thursday 11 October at Notts County’s Meadow Lane Stadium, with a wealth of leading business professionals from across Nottinghamshire set to sleep rough on the pitch to raise awareness of the concerning levels of

homelessness and poverty both on the streets of Nottingham and across the country as a whole. Homelessness in Nottingham

has reached record highs in recent years and Alan Hardy is delighted to be hosting the event at Meadow Lane for a third consecutive year in order to raise

the profile of fundraising in such a crucial area. He said: “In this day and age, no

one should have to sleep on the cold, harsh streets of our cities. Nottingham rose to the challenge of the CEO Sleepout last year and there was healthy competition among all participants, with

everyone doing their best to raise as much as they could. “I would ask all business people

across Nottinghamshire to sign up and encourage their contacts and colleagues to take part in what is a fantastic event to raise money in support of four very worthy local causes.”
