Flexibility for life

Care for their working joints Support wear and tear naturally

Whether you are out on a hack or about to go cross country, everybody loves to let your horse open out and have a good gallop. There are as much as 4 tonnes of pressure placed on the joint surfaces in a galloping horse’s lower limbs with every stride*. This load repeats which of course increases the potential for performance induced limitations.

The three main types of joints are synovial, fibrous and cartilaginous. The latter two have limited movement, they still require care but do not tend to experience high levels of friction. This cannot be said for the synovial joint which is a moveable joint, such as, the fetlock and the knee joint. It is the lubrication of this joint that comes under stress and must be maintained to avoid performance induced limitations.
