Olive tree junction
Pictured are two of the three olive trees that have brightened up the junction of Queen Street and Courtenay Street close to Lloyds Bank. Part of a “greening” of the town centre, the project was initiated by town development manager Sally Henley who bought the trees from Plants Galore. The striking iroko planters (hard brown African wood often substituting for teak) were designed and built in 2017 by carpentry students of South Devon College under tutor Steve Jones and Devon County Council provided grant funding.
