2018 marks the centenary of the Royal Air Force. The Remember RAF100 project commemorates those who have died in RAF service with aspecial focus on the First World Warand on war graves and memorials in the British Isles.


Schools and families, community groups from arts, sports, and voluntary sectors: everyone is welcome to take part in Remember RAF100. Discover –Remember –Share the story of the air service with Remember RAF100.


Discover Use the Remember RAF100 database designed to help research-and- remember air service personnel who lost their lives in World WarOne. The Remember RAF100 database contains records of the graves and memorials for over 4,800 members of the Royal Air Force (RAF), Royal Flying Corps, Women’s Royal Air Force, the Royal Naval Air Service and international Air Forces who are buried or commemorated in the United Kingdom. Use the database to discover your local heritage.


Remember Remember air service personnel by visiting agrave or memorial. Avisit to awar grave remembers the contribution made by those in your local community.Alternatively,groups can commemorate through creative activities such as making your own First World War plane as an act of remembrance and displaying it in apublic place. A free teachers pack is also available with lesson plans and Remember RAF100 poetry.Family activities include making First World War planes from toast and from celery.


Share Schools and community groups can take part in anationwide commemoration project to honour the 4,805 air service personnel who lost their lives during World WarOne and are buried or commemorated in the UK. To take part, request aName your Plane template from the Big Ideas team and return your plane to the team so it is included in remembrance installations in iconic spaces throughout the year.


Remember RAF100 is led by Big Ideas and funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and RAF100.


Free resources, posters and packs are available as well as small scale funding for groups through the eligible expenses scheme (we define a group as 8ormore people). Find out more at big-ideas.org and email RAF100@big-ideas.org to join the project.
