INBUSINESS VIEWPOINT

I am delighted to say that the past few months have once again highlighted the vibrancy of our Chamber network. Since I last sat down to write Viewpoint we’ve seen hundreds

of businesses at our networking events and we had a fantastic turnout to our very recent Business Exhibition at The Ridgeway Centre. I’m thrilled to impart that our ever popular Next Generation Chamber is going from strength to strength, growing by 10% this week alone! Check out page 25 to find out what exciting events we have coming up for our young and ambitious future business leaders. We are also launching a new column in this edition of inbusiness by our policy executive Eleanor Southgate. Eleanor is your voice in the corridors of power because as part of the Representation aspect of your Chamber membership we lobby on your behalf to ensure you have the best conditions for doing business. As part of this, we are backing the new ‘No More Not Spots’ campaign by the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) which is bringing together business communities and communications providers to improve poor mobile coverage. Recent research by the BCC has shown UK business is being hampered by ‘not spots’ and areas of partial coverage so we would encourage businesses to report mobile not spots to the BCC on Twitter, sharing photos and videos, using the hashtag #ShareYourNotSpots. The BCC have also launched their annual Chamber Business Awards and I’m thrilled to say that our members are already getting involved and working on entries. If you’ve not already started your entry

don’t despair! You have until 29 June to enter your business. The Awards are open to all Chamber members. Don’t miss your chance to shine!
