ECO-FRIENDLY BRUSH SPINS A GREEN CLEAN

The introduction of new technology has revolutionised the washing methods of Milton Keynes outdoor cleaning firm CP Grounds Maintenance. The rotary brush system has created a new offering for Chris Parlor

and his team – an eco-friendly alternative to jet washing. As the brush spins, fine sprung steel bristles bounce around to give engineered cleaning power. The method uses no detergents and

three times less water that a jet washer as the water is reused during the cleaning process, making it more environmentally friendly. The rotary brush can clean decking, concrete, natural stone, cobblestone, bricks, crazy paving, tarmac, granite and sandstone and effectively removes moss, weeds, algae and cement film. Chris said: “There are a number of

environmental benefits with this low energy system. At the last job I did in Buckingham, the customer chose to proceed because the method uses no chemicals and is efficient with water.” CP Grounds Maintenance also offers a new oil removal service. Chris added: “The treatment I use there is a different service,

separate from the brushes but, again, an environmental feature. “I use a non-chemical biological treatment specifically for the oil,

the living organisms within the liquid eat the oil that has soaked into your driveway over a three week period and pushes it back out as water – or so I'm told by the scientists!”

CHATBOT TEAM ARE IN IT FOR THE RIDE

A team of AI specialists have developed a new chatbot for a popular charity cycle race. The Bot Forge design, build and

develop engaging voice and text- based conversational interfaces powered by AI technology. Their latest effort, for The Fred

Whitton Challenge, sits on the event’s Facebook page as an automated assistant. It can answer questions and enquiries that come through Facebook Messenger, providing important event information 24/7 and help organisers answer enquiries. The bot also allows users to look

up past event times if they have participated, check weather reports and look up event facts and tips as well as vital safety information. The Bot Forge director Adrian

Thompson said: “We enjoyed working on this project as the event is a well-known charity. We had some great input from event organisers and coupled with the ability to train our bots to become

smarter this enabled us to answer a large number of event enquiries and successfully reduce the effort involved to manage them.” A chatbot can interact with new

and existing customers via voice or text across multiple channels including Facebook Messenger, Alexa, Google Assistant, SMS, Twitter and Skype.
