Helping people and businesses to flourish in Milton Keynes.

Michelle Theuma has over twenty years’ experience in the Recruitment industry and since 2003 has been with local consultancy Onyx Recruitment. Michelle is a Director of the Milton Keynes office and introduces people to both permanent and temporary career opportunities in the area.

“The opportunity to help people foster successful careers and to contribute to the continued growth of Milton Keynes by helping organisations grow their teams inspires me every day. Running a smaller owner-managed business gives me the flexibility to provide what my Clients and candidates really need from a Recruiter and that is a Partner. Someone who appreciates how crucial the next hire is for the client and someone who can guide the candidate through the process.

It’s all about the people, so while technical ability is important, the crucial aspect is the cultural mix and ensuring I bring together people with shared values and goals.

Recruitment can easily be seen as a “process” and the recruitment sector is perceived to be a fairly commoditised market place. However, here at Onyx Recruitment we offer the personal touch, giving local businesses the opportunity to work with likeminded business owners who take great pride in offering a specialised, tailor made recruitment consultancy service.”

Onyx recently celebrated their 16th anniversary and continue to build their reputation as trusted advisors in Building Teams, Interview Coaching, Salary Surveys, and Career Advice.

NEW MANAGER JON RAISES BAR AT PUB

The Cock Hotel in Stony Stratford has a new look and a new events list after the arrival of a new general manager. Jonathan Ballard (pictured)

arrived at the High Street pub in October with a wealth of bar experience. Since then he has revamped

the public areas, booked live bands in the pub every Friday, started a Karaoke Club every Saturday and worked very hard to improve the quality and standards throughout the hotel. Jon said: “The hotel has had some challenges of recent years, and

as I have turned three similar businesses around I was up for the challenge. In fact I jumped at the chance. “The hotel is beautiful and has captured my heart with its old world

charms, I look forward to my time at the helm, pushing boundaries and exploring new business. “If you are ever in the area, and think we may be able to help your

business with meeting space or corporate meeting, my door is always open and we serve great coffee all day.” The Cock Hotel is hosting a free to attend Business Showcase on

25 October from 12pm-3pm. Find out more about corporate accommodation rates, meeting room hire costs and celebrations, as well as meet the team, tour and explore and network.
