Murray and McGregor Stoves and Fireplaces is the brainchild of Ross Murray Poole, who decided to build an ethical and customer focussed solid fuel company, drawing on his knowledge and experience gained from many years within the renewable energy industry. Ross and his wife Shumela moved out to Dunblane 10 years ago with their two children, Jacob and Patrick, who both attend local schools whilst Shumela studied and teaches at the University of Stirling.

Ross was a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant for many years, before taking the reins and spearheading a group of companies within the renewable energy sector. It was during this time that he became disillusioned by an industry that was heavily propped up on tariff s, and the technologies that he was involved with were often being mis-sold for fi nancial gain. It was at this point he decided to launch Murray and McGregor Stoves and Fireplaces as he fi rmly believed that a quality wood burning stove, fuelled by locally sourced and well managed wood, should feature in any well designed and carbon friendly home.

He is the heart of the company, loving nothing more than engaging directly with clients to achieve precision and clarity to all designs. Ross also studied Conservation Biology which extends his true passion to promote a more sustainable and sympathetic way of life. Now based in Bridge of Allan, with his young family he is actively engaged with the local community and the University of Stirling where his administration offi ce was once based. He is now a fi rm fi xture at his showroom in Dunblane, where he promotes his passion for all things renewable with enthusiasm.

“I am absolutely committed to providing the highest standards and service, helping our clients buy the perfect stove and fi replace for their needs. Murray and McGregor never compromise on quality, which means that we can install a superior quality stove and fi replace to the more discerning customers who place quality and service above price. This is much more than a commercial enterprise to me, it is an extension of the person that I am and the message that I want to share with you.”

Murray and McGregor Stoves and Fireplaces have been installing their wonderfully crafted hand made fi replaces and stoves throughout Scotland for the last couple of years and now have a local showroom next to M&S at Duckburn Industrial Estate in Dunblane.
