GDPR kicks in ... The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union.
It addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. When the GDPR takes effect on 25th May 2018, it will replace the 1995 Data Protection Directive.
Unlike a directive, it does not require national governments to pass any enabling legislation and, so, it is directly binding and applicable.
Over the coming weeks, all UK citizens will be contacted by companies asking them to update their data. This will include such things as online banking, shopping outlets (eBay, Amazon etc.) utilities, betting sites, organisation and club memberships and, of course, Pitchcare.
Basic Lawn Care course
Consideration will be given to using the appropriate grass species, seeding, the correct sequence of maintenance operations, moss control, use of the right products at the right time and other essential techniques.
The Grounds Training team present the first of their new Basic Lawn Care course on Friday 18th May 2018
This 1-day course has been developed in response to enquiries from clients and will be delivered by experienced turf professionals.
The course has been designed for anyone who wishes to create and maintain a quality natural turf feature.
Typically, it will attract self‐ employed gardeners and those entering the lawn care market as
professional technicians. Participants will learn how to:
• Create and maintain a quality lawn
• Understand the basics of seasonal maintenance
• Identify and control weeds, pests and diseases
• Be aware of Health & Safety in relation to machinery and equipment
The course will provide an understanding of how a healthy, green and well‐kept lawn provides the perfect complement to thoughtful planting schemes. Indeed, the condition of the surface can make or break the impact and effect of the landscape.
Participants will earn a Pitchcare Certificate of Attendance.
To register your interest in the next course on Friday 18th May at the Pitchcare offices in Allscott, email
