The alluring Astoria

Astoria was originally built as a trans-Atlantic ocean liner and in 1994 the vessel was virtually stripped to her hull and re-constructed at an amazing cost of $US150 million and restored as a beautiful more contemporary cruise ship. Her enhanced facilities include the impressive Olissipo Restaurant with an alternative dining option in the Lotus Buffet, a choice of five comfortable lounges and bars including the Calypso Show Lounge, plus a nightclub, cinema and auditorium, casino, shopping boutique, photo shop, library, card and bridge room, and a beautiful marbled reception area.

Astoria offers extensive deck areas, an unheated outdoor swimming pool, pool bar and the popular outdoor Aelos Bar which overlooks the pool and promenade deck. There’s also a Wellness Centre with fitness equipment, sauna, massage facilities and a beauty salon.

All private en-suite cabins have a bath with shower, bidet, hairdryer and personal safe; a TV for movies, news and information channels; and a fridge with a mini bar facility. There is a wide selection of twin and double bedded cabin categories and designated singles. Plus, there are also more luxurious junior suites, de luxe junior suites, spacious balcony suites and a splendid owner’s presidential suite.

Astoria will operate a spring season sailing from London Tilbury and return again in the autumn for a programme of cruises from Poole and Portsmouth. For the summer, Astoria will operate on the French market.
