Travel Insurance

It is a condition of booking a cruise holiday with us that you have taken out appropriate travel insurance cover. We are pleased to offer a fully comprehensive travel insurance policy arranged by Gold Cover Insurance Services and insured by Lloyd’s. This policy has been specially chosen to give you peace of mind about coping with unforeseen events that could occur either before or during your holiday. Your attention is drawn to item 2 of the booking conditions covering the cancellation penalties and therefore it is advisable that insurance cover is taken out at the time of booking to cover any potential charges.

This insurance policy is available only to persons who are legally resident in the United Kingdom (including Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), European Union or European Economic Area (EEA) and registered with a medical practitioner in their home country.

Due to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations, our travel insurance may only be purchased from us directly. Please call us on 0845 430 0274 to arrange your policy, or ask your Travel Agent for details of alternative schemes that they may be able to offer you.

Summary of Cover This is only an outline of the cover provided per person. A specimen copy of the full policy wording is available on request.

Conditions 1. Ages apply at date policy is issued (except for children under 2)

2. You must declare any pre-existing medical conditions of the insured or anyone on whose health your trip may depend, including any symptoms which are awaiting or receiving treatment or investigation. More information is provided in your policy document.

3. Children under 2 years at time of travel are insured free of charge when travelling with an insured adult. Children 2-17 years are charged at 25% of above rate when travelling with an insured adult.

4. Please note that restrictions/exclusions may apply for certain activities and sports. This is of particular relevance to the Northern Lights and Worldwide cruises. Please ask for details.

Supplementary charges for additional cancellation or curtailment cover

In the case that the cost of your holiday exceeds the £6000 per person cancellation cover limit, please call us for a quotation.

Insurer This travel insurance is insured by Lloyd’s syndicates 4444/958 which are managed by Canopius Managing Agents Limited. Section 19 is insured by CBL Insurance Europe Ltd. They are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

If you or any of the people travelling with you or others on whose health the trip depends have any pre-existing medical conditions, are on a waiting list for treatment or have a condition that is waiting diagnosis you will not be covered for the condition unless you check that the condition can be covered with the Insurer’s Healthline shown in your policy wording. Failure to do this may result in a declined claim. You do not need to contact the Insurer’s Heathline in respect of any pre-existing medical condition that is included in the list of ‘No Screening Conditions’ and their terms listed in your policy wording.

Commencement of Cover For single trip policies your cover does not commence until your policy documentation has been issued and your payment has been processed.

Cancellation Please read your policy wording carefully and take note of the pre-existing medical conditions, exclusions, excesses, limitations and conditions. If you find the policy does not meet your requirements you can return the policy to us within 30 days of receipt, but before the trip departure date. Provided no claim has been made your premium will be refunded in full.

Consumer Insurance Act You are required by the provisions of the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act to take care to:

a) supply accurate and complete answers to all the questions we or the administrator may ask as part of your application for cover under the policy;

b) to make sure that all information supplied as part of your application for cover is true and correct;

c) tell us of any changes to the answers you have given as soon as possible.

Failure to provide answers in-line with the requirements of the Act may mean that your policy is invalid and that it does not operate in the event of a claim.

Excesses Most sections of your policy are subject to an excess as shown in our Summary of Cover and in your policy wording. This means each person will have to bear the first part of each claim.

Activities You may not be covered if you are planning to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a generally recognised risk of injury. A list of acceptable sports and activities is shown in the policy wording. Please ask us if you are in any doubt. It may be possible to cover other activities for an additional premium. Age restrictions may also apply.
