Fifty-nine percent of women are yet to find a successful way to manage their weight. Why not try genetic testing for the best chance of weight-loss success
Most of us know someone who can eat whatever they want and never gain a pound of weight. But for the rest of us, maintaining a healthy body weight can be an issue. Each year new diets that promise a weight-loss
miracle hit the headlines. But many people are still concerned about problems with maintaining a healthy weight. We recently conducted an online survey to ask women
who had previously dieted or tried to lose weight their opinions about weight management. And out of the 1,000 women we surveyed, more than seven out of 10 say they’re unhappy with their current weight. However, it’s not because of a lack of effort. More than
a third admit they’ve tried four or more different diets. But 59 percent claim they still haven’t found a successful way to manage their weight. One woman in five also says she's constantly on a diet, with a quarter admitting to dieting at least twice a year.
6 All About You
Diets galore You could argue there’s never been a better time to lose weight. After all, there’s no end of diet books and weight loss plans you can try these days. Low-carb and high-protein diets look set to dominate again this year, such as ketogenic diets. You'll see other trends that are growing in popularity too, such as plant-based diets (veganism) and eating plans where you have your last meal by mid- afternoon and don’t eat again until breakfast (time-restricted feeding). But having access to lots of different types of diets
doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be successful. Indeed, our survey reveals one in seven women says every diet she has ever tried has failed. More than a third of women also admit it doesn’t matter what they do, they can’t lose weight. And of those who do lose weight initially while following a weight-loss diet, one in three says she ends up putting the weight back on.
