35 YEARS IN THE S For 35 years,

PaleyFest has been celebrating the me- dium of television and has afforded

audience members a chance to be present with its stars, live on stage. It’s a chance to talk to their favorite personalities from

their favorite shows, along with special episode screenings, behind-the-scenes- stories, scoops and Q & A sessions.

This year’s lineup will surely have

LGBT audiences clamoring for tickets onFriday, March 16, with PaleyFest’s Opening Night presentation ofAn Evening with Barbra Streisand, which will feature a conversation with the legendary diva herself. Also on board the LGBT cruise ship will be the cast ofWill & Grace, along with show creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. Some of the other shows being spotlighted are: Handmaid’s Tale, Mom, Riverdale and Stranger Things to name a few. organization, Reyes hears from sup- portive and “passionate television fans” throughout the year about what shows they would like to see highlighted. Reyes expanded on their selection method; “It’s a big process that goes on year-round. Not only do we have PaleyFest in the spring, there’s one in New York as well in the fall. Throughout the year, we are hosting single event panels with different

shows in L.A. and New York, so we’re always thinking of what will resonate at the festival. Since it’s a larger scale event, we are lucky to be at the beautiful Dolby Theatre right afterThe Oscars.” Glitz and glamor aside, Reyes stressed

the importance of what PaleyFest does in its mission of sustaining television’s heritage with “over 180,000 programs” being saved for future generations. “PaleyFest looks like this big red carpet, star studded event,” he said. “But all of it is happening really to preserve the incredible archive that we have here at Paley Center and then make available to the public.” Another avenue that Reyes has

been instrumental in championing, is spearheading the LGBT Collection that chronicles we of the queer kind on the
