Environmental practice rewarded

Chesterfield-based Shed Grounds Maintenance is celebrating after winning the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environment Award at the Derbyshire Times Business Awards. The CSR and Environment award

was judged on a business’s ability to demonstrate its commitment to the ‘triple bottom line’, focusing on ‘people, planet and profit’. Companies had to show details

of their policies, demonstrate how these are achievable and explain the benefits of the CSR and

environmental policies to employees, the business, and/or the local community. According to the judges: “Shed

stood out by demonstrating a clear plan of their policies and procedures which have a direct impact on their team, customers and the environment. This has resulted in numerous accreditations being awarded for their hard work”. Nicky Botham, Director, said:

“We feel this is well-deserved recognition for our efforts and great news for our team.

“This award recognises the importance of the environment and people to our business. We are committed to continuously improving our practices and our team have been striving hard to ensure that we live and breathe our mantra of reduce, re-use, recycle. “We have also embarked on

schemes to support young people to have a career in the horticulture industry. We see this as a testament both to the value of our own efforts and to the importance of the trend toward greater responsibility.”
