You may have pension benefits under two schemes knownasAccrued Rights; either AFPS 75/15 or AFPS 05/15. To receive both schemes’ immediate benefits, your total years’ service and age on leaving must meet the criteria above for both schemes. Thebenefits for both schemes will be based on your rank and salary on leaving.
It is important to note if aSgt on AFPS 75/15 completed 22 years’ service they would qualify for a proportion of both AFPS 75 and AFPS 15 immediate benefits. If they left after 20 years’ service they would only qualify for AFPS 15 immediate
benefits.Asthey have not completed 22 years’ service they wouldreceive their AFPS 75 benefits at deferred pension age. See 2012DIN-01-063 for further information and examples.
