The Turbary Trust Trees on the Recreation Ground
The Turbary Trust, which owns the
Recreation Ground and leases it to the Town Council, has recently undertaken a full survey of the condition of the trees – both on the Recreation Ground and those in neighbouring properties which overhang the Recreation Ground.
This work was carried out by a fully qualifi ed agriculturalist and a report submitted to Purbeck District Council (PDC) because many of these trees have Tree Preservation Orders on them. When The Trust receives permission from PDC to carry out the necessary work, it will be carried out by qualifi ed and specialist tree surgeons.
The Trust is endeavouring to write to all our neighbouring properties which will be affected, however in the meantime anyone with concerns can see the report at the Town Council offi ces in Moorland Parade during their normal offi ce hours.
It is hoped that the work will be carried out around New Year, but certainly will be completed during the winter months.
