The Lytchett Minster & Upton Carnival team is pleased to announce that we presented Lou Sharp and her son Lenny from MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association) with a £300 cheque at the Upton Central on
Saturday 2nd September from our street collection on Carnival day (pictured). Unfortunately Angela (the representative for Huntington’s) was unable to attend, so we have sent a cheque for the same amount to the Huntington’s Disease Association. Thank you again to all the generous people that donated both their time and their money to these very worthwhile causes.
If you have a charity or project that you would like to be put forward for next year’s collection, please contact us with the name and contact details for them to be entered into a ballot to be our charity on the day.
To be able to continue we need more volunteers – can you help?
We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who would not be able to provide these colourful events
without the help and support of local businesses, schools and more community involvement. Whether it’s joining the
committee and having lots of input or just as an occasional helper at events, please get in touch.
We are now planning the next year’s events, but have a couple for your diary already with more to follow:
Children’s Christmas Party, Saturday 9th December, 3-5.30pm, Upton Community Centre Christmas Quiz, Friday 15th December, Upton Social Club (details to follow) Fun Run, April/May (date to be confi rmed)
