Upton In Bloom
It is 4.30pm on Saturday 19th August, as somewhat weary Upton in Bloom members and their helpers, close the doors on the Community Centre. Weary and triumphant, for the Horticultural Show was the most successful to date – the biggest ever number of entries, highest quality exhibits and a vibrant afternoon set of visitors, whose spending, along with donations of our sponsors, helped us raise £700.
However, if one disappointment existed, it was the number of children’s entries, which were down considerably on previous years. We will be looking at making that section more attractive and enticing for next year.

The Reserve Championship Bowl was donated by, and presented by, a long-time supporter of the show, Bob Hewitt, in memory of his wife Kath. We all miss her presence at the show.
