Welcome to the October issue

As we draw closer to fireworks night, this time of year can be tricky for pet owners – so do see the advice from Hillside Vets on page 19. Hillside Vets is also celebrating its 20th birthday and the team invites you to a celebration evening on Friday 13th October (pg28).

Congratulations to Cuddles Day Nurseries which have all been given ‘outstanding’ awards by Ofsted (pg3); and also to all the winners from the annual Upton in Bloom Horticultural Show (pg32). The team were delighted to receive the largest number of entries ever!

The Beacon Association (pg6) was pleased to be able to present cheques to two local charities with the money raised from this year’s Carnival. They are already making plans and taking bookings for Carnival 2018 and are on the look out for more volunteers – so do let them know if you’d like to get involved. They also have a number of events planned in the run up to Christmas to help them to continue to raise funds.

New this month, the Random Roamers are planning to organise day trips for local seniors – give them a call if you have any ideas or might be interested in joining in (pg27).

Our magazines are as popular as ever, so if you would like to advertise in Broadstone, Corfe Mullen or Upton, please get in touch!

Until next time, Karen
