‘loUD anD proUD’ challEngE to InDEpEnDEntS the npa is offering broadcast media training free of charge to npa members to help the sector move up from last year’s high water mark of positive media coverage. the npa has an active media presence but through this training aims to grow media capacity at grass-roots, so that positive coverage can be generated for community pharmacy and media opportunities can be taken locally.


the training will take the form of a webinar (open to all), mock radio interviews and follow-up coaching (by phone), a full-day, studio-based, face-to-face training and regular media top tips

aSK YoUr pharmacISt (aYp) WEEK 6-13 noVEmbEr 2017 plans are well underway for the next ask Your pharmacist (aYp) Week 6-13 november 2017. aYp Week provides a platform for pharmacy public awareness activities across the UK. It also serves as a prompt for conversations with stakeholders at a local level about community pharmacy services.


this year’s concept is ‘Discover Your local pharmacy’, which will allow the sector to showcase the full range of pharmacy services, and the full extent of pharmacist expertise -surprising people with what’s on offer on their doorstep in local pharmacies.


as a core element of the campaign, the npa will supply resources to help pharmacies hold Discover Your local pharmacy ‘open days’ in their pharmacies. for more information contact a.mcalister@npa.co.uk


local marKEt InSIght (lmI) the npa has launched local market Insight, a new service available to all npa members that allows pharmacies to set and monitor business targets by comparing services and market share with other nearby pharmacies. for more information contact a.mcalister@npa.co.uk


npa confErEncE anD pharmacY ShoW npa members in northern Ireland are being offered the opportunity to combine the npa conference on the afternoon/evening of Saturday 7 october with the pharmacy Show 8-9 october. this year the npa conference package theme is ‘You are the answer’ and includes afternoon business sessions plus a gala dinner, entertainment and overnight accommodation the night before your visit to the pharmacy Show, which is nearby. the conference is free to npa members but, as it is packaged together with the gala dinner, entertainment, and overnight accommodation, we are offering a subsidised rate of £50 (saving of over £100) per npa member.
