ENTERPRISE WITHIN PHARMACY AWARD
ENTRY CAN BE BY NOMINATION OR BY PERSONAL APPLICATION.
This award aims to highlight pharmacists and their teams who have adopted enterprising ventures within their pharmacy practice.
Northern Ireland’s community pharmacies are renowned for providing an excellent level of customer and patient service, with many going above and beyond the ‘call of duty’ on a daily basis to improve patient outcomes and to ensure the optimum level of patient care.
This ‘above and beyond’ could be in the form of: An outreach project within the local community Enhanced educational progression for members of staff
The development of integrated working relationships with other healthcare professionals, such as GPs, community nurses or other Allied Health Professionals.
As such, this award aims to recognise and reward community pharmacists and their teams who work to foster a culture of enterprise within their local community.
WHO CAN ENTER? The competition is open to all pharmacists/teams working within community pharmacy in Northern Ireland, who can provide evidence of enterprising and innovative initiatives or projects with the prime objective of providing an enhanced healthcare service to their patients.

HEALTH PROMOTION ENTRY CAN BE BY NOMINATION OR BY PERSONAL APPLICATION.
This award is designed to recognise community pharmacy’s commitment to tackling health inequalities and serves to reward achievement in the devel- opment and implementation of health promotion strategies and initiatives in the community.
The award will be presented to a pharmacy team or individual, who can demonstrate recognition of health issues specific to their local communi- ty, and a subsequent campaign, promotion or initiative. which has been designed to tackle those issues.
WHO CAN ENTER? This category is open to all pharmacists and their teams working in either independent or chain pharmacies, who have designed, facilitated or imple- mented health projects and initiatives to meet recognised local community healthcare needs.
GENERAL AWARDS CRITERIA
Enthusiasm and commitment to the enhancement of community pharmacy in Northern Ireland
Exceptional quality above and beyond what is expected An ability to overcome challenges in pursuit of goals Evidence of how performance was measured and benchmarked in addition to proof of project success/improved patient outcomes.
JUDGES WILL BE LOOKING FOR:
Provision of clear evidence as to how the specific health issue/s were identified
Evidence of clearly-defined project/initiative aims and objectives Evidence of excellent customer care and commitment to the health and wellbeing of the local community
Evidence of benchmarking and subsequent measurement of results in both the local community in general and for the pharmacy business in particular
The National Pharmacy Association is delighted once again to sponsor the Health Promotion Award, which celebrates the important role that pharmacies have in supporting population health and wellbeing in Northern Ireland.
This award is a great opportunity to commend those who have dedicated themselves to delivering high quality care; the winner will have led the way in helping people to make healthy choices and demonstrated the positive impact of their work in their community.
