PHARMACY’S ‘TITANIC’ EFFORTS REWARDED!

ON 27 JANUARY 2018, NORTHERN IRELAND COMMUNITY PHARMACY WILL ONCE AGAIN PAY TRIBUTE TO THE WORK THAT IS DONE ON A DAILY

BASIS THROUGHOUT THE PROVINCE! The Pharmacy in Focus Awards in association with Numark provide an opportunity each year for members of the profession, representatives from the industry and members of pharmacy’s professional bodies to celebrate the amazing initiatives and projects, which have been designed to improve healthcare in general and patient outcomes in particular.

Now in their eleventh year, the awards, which are run in conjunction with the Ulster Chemists’ Association President’s Ball, also act as a fabulous networking event at which YOU can not only catch up with what your pharmacy colleagues are up to, but can enjoy an evening of celebration and entertainment.

We would not, of course, be able to stage these fantastic awards without the support of our event partner, Numark, who have worked in conjunction with us, for over ten years.

We’re also highly appreciative of the great contribution and support from our category partners: McLernon Computers, Water Wipes, Teva UK, National Pharmacy Association and EMIS Health, and of our associated partners, Fujifilm.

The event, which this year will be held for the first time at Titanic Belfast, the world’s leading tourist attraction, will once again showcase the terrific range of projects, which reflect the

contribution that local community pharmacy makes to Northern Ireland healthcare on a daily basis!

Belfast may be synonymous with the Titanic – and now the Titanic Belfast – but, this year is also noteworthy in that this black tie event is being hosted by another of Northern Ireland’s icons! Yes, we’re delighted to announce that the province’s own Eamonn Holmes will be your MC for the evening – so you know that you’re in for a highly-polished and entertaining time!

But, of course, there wouldn’t be an event if it wasn’t for YOU! Yes, this is the time for you to step up and put yourself and your team forward for one of our great categories. There’s bound to be at least one category that your pharmacy is eligible for: from customer service to entrepreneurship; from eHealth and innovation to enterprise within pharmacy.

Just take a look at this year’s categories and you’re sure to find something that reflects the great work you’ve been involved in.

Winning a Pharmacy in Focus Award definitely

brings a certain cachet to your pharmacy. And, if you don’t believe us, just listen to the words of one of last year’s winners, Colin Harrison, whose Harrison Healthcare pharmacy was not only rewarded for its superb customer service but also for displaying excellent enterprise in pharmacy.

Event Host

‘There’s no doubt that winning a Pharmacy in Focus Award brings benefits to any pharmacy in Northern Ireland,’ Colin said. ‘Even applying for an award gives us the opportunity to revisit and reassess what we do on a daily basis. It’s vital that we keep our service ‘fresh’ for our patients and the awards make us take stock and plan for the future. Winning an award is the icing on the cake, but, ultimately, it’s the patients who are the winners!’

SO, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
