elcome to the latest autumn issue of Surrey Magazine. It’s been a glorious summer despite the ludicrous political turmoil and we are looking forward to a great autumn. We have some wonderful fashion for you with our own stylish shoot, some exotic travel, hotel and dining tips and a plethora of fascinating things to do and see.

We popped over to Mercedes Benz World and tested our skills in a Mercedes AMG on the track and a 4x4 on the off road course. It’s a great experience for all the family, or take the office and prove you are the fastest and most furious! Nothing like getting a few friends together for a great track day and showing off your driving skills (especially if you’ve taken a few sneaky courses before hand).
We review the five star Cliveden House which has just completed its new refurbishment of a grand new spa and dine at the award winning Andre Garret Restaurant.
We take a trip to Mauritius to brush up on our water skiing, and manage to ski during a solar eclipse. The Shandrani provides free water skiing and the staff there are consummate professionals and will have beginners skiing in no time or improve even the most seasoned expert. The Mauritians are without doubt one of the most hospitable peoples in the world and their cuisine is sublime.
We take a closer look at Goodwood Revival, in our opinion the greatest event on the British social calendar and take some time out at The Cartier Guards Polo, a most glamorous if boozy day out. Both a great excuse to dress up in your poshest frock.
Our cover this month was photographed by yours truly in Shalford with Graham Hills’ classic Lotus and our women’s fashion feature was shot on location at the newly designed Ashberg House in Chelsea with celebrity stylist Miranda Holder.
We also cover the Mille Miglia, the most famous car rally in the world, racing in the Bentley Blower and the 1954 Bentley Continental, two of the most iconic Bentleys ever. This prestigious and exclusive event hosts some of the greatest cars and drivers of all time. The Italians worship cars over anything else and the atmosphere and experience are out of this world.
Our profile this issue looks at Keira Knightley, one of our most impressive actors, who career has gone from strength to strength and is always a delight to watch. We also take a look at all the best events in and around Surrey, from theatres, to music to stand up comedy.
We continue our support for local businesses with our feature on great family run and independent boutiques, such as such as Maud Lifestyle, Ashton House in Hersham, Wooden Heart and Weybridge Lights in Weybridge.
As we move into autumn, it’s time spruce up the wardrobe with a touch more colour, take advantage of the fading light and huddle up with a good book, go cycling over the rolling hills before the winter sets in, see friends and share a glass of good wine.
