Arts Festival Winners


We had another amazingly successful Arts Festival fortnight. The garden features went from strength to strength as the weeks went on, not a day went by without another one being spotted. They appeared on railings, in hedges and in gardens.


The judging was very diffi cult, especially in the individual category. The winners are as follows:


Businesses 1st: Town and Country House Clearance and Garden Services (horse and cart) 2nd: Upton Central Coffee Shop decorated with help of the Loose Ladies


3rd: Upton Home Hardware (window display) Groups


1st: 1st Upton Guides (Chinese dragon) 2nd: Ladybird Play School (dinosaur) 2nd: Upton Methodist Church Pre-school (festival) Community Award: Loose Ladies (knitted garlands) Special Award: Upton Infant School & Upton Junior School (decorating the crown)


Individuals 1st: Clair Duffi n (fl ower bed) 2nd: Chris Pierce (mural) 3rd: Llian Mancinelli (fairy garden)


Runners-up


Zoe Pipe (children in the hedge) Valerie Rawlings (Doris the gardener) Denise Cuthbert (spring tree) Kitt Harris (Form-ewe-la 1)
