Lytchett Minster & Upton Carnival Best Children’s Float and Overall Float


Methodist Playschool and Ladybirds Pre-school – with £100 each to put towards ongoing projects. We were proud to be supporting Local Motor Neurone Disease and Huntingdon’s Disease support groups with our collection buckets this year and are pleased to announce that the people of Upton have raised £536.04!


Lytchett Minster and Upton Carnival 2017


Wow what a wonderful turnout for Carnival this year and even the weather behaved!


For the second year we were able to bring the parade onto the recreation ground, which meant that all the stallholders could also see the variety of entrants from nuns to stormtroopers, Trolls to sea creatures, Alice in Wonderland to Stomp with Batmen, cadets, dancers, actors, footballers and gardeners young and old with a Town Crier and a Royal Party and of course an American Police car!


Thank you to our wonderful Emergency Services for engaging with both children and adults – not sure who had the biggest grins.


The fi eld was a sight to behold with our amazing compere Kevin Oakley holding everything together with announcements awards and notifi cations. There were fantastic acts on the stage with live music and singing, displays in the arena from The Bournemouth Carnival Band and The Gatsby Gang (2shoezumba). The Royal British Legion beer tent, teas and coffees in the Grove, pizza, hog roast burgers and chips, crepes, cakes, cheeses, pasties, pies and ice cream catered for all tastes and ages.


Thank you to the various stallholders with facepainters and tombolas, to ferret racing, owls and hawks, a little bit of Sumo and circus skills, bouncy fun, mini bikes, crazy golf, plants and crafts.

Also to everyone who donated items for the raffl e and all of the volunteers up to and on the day, and especially to our sponsors who enabled us to offer so much free entertainment to make it more affordable for families.


We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who would not be able to provide this colourful event without the help and support of local businesses, schools and community involvement. From all of us to all of you, Thank You!
