Saturday 30 September, the local “Investing in

Peace in Palestine and Israel” group is hosting an Open Day in the Cathedral Halls from 10 o’clock.

The aim is to inform, raise awareness, hear stories and encourage actions leading to justice, security, peace

and reconciliation for all peoples in Israel and Palestine, and so contribute towards peace in the Middle East. In this land marked by confl ict, enmity and violence, inspiration comes from Daoud Nassar a Palestinian farmer, running a farm project called the Tent of Nations, southwest of Bethlehem.

The Nassar family live out their conviction of refusing to be enemies “We want to use our frustrations and disappointments constructively; to transform this into energy we need to do things positively, rather that becoming a seed-bed for anger and bitterness”.

At the entrance to farm written on a rock is this sign: we refuse to be enemies

The hope for this Open Day is that from listening and learning will come more sense of connection with people in this part of the world and energy

to do what we can in support of a just peace in Israel and Palestine.
