Design student dies in bed fall

AFAMILY from Trottiscliffe have spoken of the tragic accident that took the “full and fun-filled” life of talented daughter and sister Tansy Stowell. Tansy, pictured, who moved to

NewYork to fulfil her dream of de- signing hats, died after falling from a raised bed at her Brooklyn loft apartment. The beautiful 28-year-old, noted

for her flamboyant purple hair, had returned from a night out with her boyfriend before the accident. He found her with head injuries but she could not be saved. Her mum Sally – a church war-

den in Trottiscliffe – dad Stephen, sister Holly and brother Jonathan described Tansy as “one of a kind”, adding: “We are heartbroken. “She was living the most fantas-

tic, full and colourful life, with her New York friends and family around her. She packed more into her 28 years than most of us will in a lifetime. She truly lived life to the max and we are so very honoured to have been a part of her world as her parents, sister and brother.” They have asked for stories and anecdotes to be posted on Tansy’s web page, which they hope to use at a local event to celebrate her life, probably on her birthday – Sep- tember 21. The family said: “De- tails will follow in due course, and

we would love as many of her friends to join us as possible.” Tansy studied at the University

for the Creative Arts in Maidstone and graduated in 2011. She re- cently completed further studies at Columbia University where she was hoping to study for a PhD. Rev Linda Shuker, from Trot- tiscliffe church, said: “The commu- nity and the church at St Peter and St Paul offer the family our condo- lences and prayers at this very sad time.”

Mourners who attended her fu-

neral in America, at Fresh Pond Crematorium on July 31, wore pur- ple as a tribute to the young girl with the same coloured hair.

Village to hold jumble trail

ECCLES will hold its first Jumble Trail next month. The concept will see a safari of

stalls set up around the village and neighbouring Burham where villagers can sell their unwanted items fromtheir doorstep. GayleWallace, from Mackenders

Close in Eccles, came up with the idea. She said: “Less than a week after I suggested having a jumble trail I had 13 stalls booked. You can take part on your own or share a stall with a neighbour. You can sell to raise money for charity, it's entirely up to you!

“It promises to be a really fun community event.” It follows a similar successful

event inWouldham. More than 20 stalls are expected

to take part, within a two-mile radius of Eccles village centre, along Bull Lane, PilgrimsWay and Rochester Road to Burham. The sale, on Saturday,

September 2, runs from 10am to 3pm. There is also a chance for visitors who visit the most stalls to win a hamper full of goodies. Formore details on the trail, visit www.jumbletrail.com.
