Brownies’ 50th birthday fun at lakes

THE 3rd Snodland Brownies have celebrated their 50th birth- day. "We celebrated in a number of

ways, " said Clare Silver. "We held a 'design a badge' competi- tion which was won by Lucy, who is 10. Her design has been made into a woven badge the Brownies can wear on their uniform. The donation we received from the Snodland Partnership went to- wards the cost of the badges. "The following day we attended

a pond-dipping session at Ley- bourne Lakes, where the Brown- ies caught a variety of insects in their nets, including dragon and damselfly larvae, caddis fly nymphs and water beetles."

The Brownies, who are pic- tured at lakes, also held a fancy

dress party with traditional games and a birthday cake.
