The location of the wooden gate had been questioned.An issue had been reported where lorries and cars had pulled into a driveway where the road had been narrowed for work, damaging the soakaway to the property. Cllr Frankling would see if the contractor could fix it. Parish council projects Cllr Frankling would organise a working party for the pond. The next project would be thewell. Barriers There had been complaints about holes in the grass made by the barriers used when materialswere stored for the road works. Itwas agreed that these should be filled with topsoil. The grass had also been killed in this area and CllrWilliams would arrange for grass seed and top soil. Parking Therewere complaints about cars parking on the verge near the car park. It was agreed that logs could be put along here to prevent parking. Highways The hedge of the house along Comp Land which used to be called Orchard Leawas overgrown and in the road. The clerkwas asked to write to the owner asking them to cut the hedge back.


Ryarsh


Police Therewas only one crime in the previous month – the theft of lead from the village hall. Residentswere encouraged to report any damage or minor thefts to the police. PCSO Kim Lidbury (Valley of Visions officer)was also keeping an eye on Workhouse Lane. If therewas evidence of drug use, it should be reported to Tonbridge and Malling Council, who would deal with it as a public health issue. If therewas evidence of criminal activity, it should be reported to the police to investigate. Planning The clerk reported problems


A CARRERA Vendetta limited edition grey bike with luminous yellow writingwas stolen from the Shell Service Station in Old Chatham Road, Blue Bell Hill. A cycle parked in the road at The Freehold, East Peckham,was damaged. A black pedal cyclewas stolen from a


bike rack in New Hythe Lane, Larkfield. The lockswere glued on a shed at a


house in Mackenders Green, Eccles. In Beech Road, East Malling, itemswere

Summer fete Cllr Storey thanked those who had aended. Itwas anticipated that about £2,100 had been raised for good causes. Public forum Itwas reported that the building site at Clarendon/Brionne had been quiet for the last few days. All the heavy gear, plant and equipment had gone. Itwas noted that Brionne had been almost completely demolished, although permissionwas only to take down the garage. Itwas understood that the borough councilwas investigating.


Troiscliffe


Parish plan The clerk had circulated the draft framework of an emergency plan for the village and had placed an article in The Pilgrims newsleer asking residents to volunteer skills or equipment. Only one resident had made contact. Bramble Park Therewere no tree preservation orders on Bramble Tree Park. However, the treeswere automatically protected as theywere in a conservation area. Should any planning proposals come forward, there would be a survey to identify and grade the importance of the trees. Community Asset Register The clerkwas asked to find out the legal costs involved in nominating places such as the allotments, tennis courts, recreation ground, village hall, duck pond and pubs. Christmas tree The clerk would apply for the licence to run an electric cable over the road between the village green and the George Inn so that the Christmas tree could be illuminated again this year. BT box BT had now removed the phone from the box in Taylors Lane. The clerkwas


asked to find out whatwas happening with the box as itwas very dirty. Flag pole Members considered a suggestion that the village to have a flag pole so that a flag could be flown on important occasions. Possible sights would be considered.


Wateringbury


County report County Cllr Mahew Balfour reported that funds had been made available from the Local Enterprise Partnership to look at the problems atWateringbury corssroads.An issue had been raised by residents at the top of Red Hill on the speed of vehicles approaching the bend at the North Pole pub and the risk of accidents with vehicles turning out of Malling Road. Cllr Balfour had tried to get the police to use cameras at that point. PollutionAmeetingwas being arranged with Chris Luche of Tonbridge and Malling Council about pollution at the crossroads. Iron fencing Mike Pursey, ofWateringbury Pear Orchards, had agreed to remove the fencing on Bow Road but had found itwas in a conservation area. Recently, a sign had appeared on the fencingwarning of the dangers, but he had been unable to establish who put the sign there. The borough council appeared to know nothing about it. TreesAquote for £250 had been received fromWildwood Tree Care for work on the trees at the village hall. Members agreed to proceed. Lock The lock on the gate to the top play areawas broken and had been replaced three times. The chairman would inspect it. One of the picnic tables had been put on the wet pour surface,was now embedded and could not be removed. Itwas agreed the table did not interfere with the play equipment and could stay. Another picnic table in the playing fields needed repairing. Fete The chairman said the fete had been a great success. MrWis, of the Village Fete Commiee, said there had been 36 stalls and he thanked the parish council for its financial support and said in future fetes should be self-funded. Speedwatch Therewere five volunteers but itwas felt that the requirements for volunteers to be registered with the police could put some people off volunteering. Mr Stroud stated Speedwatch did not get the support from the parish council and that he was retiring as co-ordinator with immediate effect.Aresident thanked him for his work and efforts on the Speedwatch team. Allotments Therewere three vacancies.

door lock on a propertywas damaged but no accesswas gained. Itemswere removed from a property in Masefield Road, Larkfield. The owner believes theywent missing after someone knocked at the door and entered the property.
