SERVICE ABOVE SELF
AUGUST 2017: ISSUE 101
As in previous years the Club had a Public Relations stand at St Andrews Highland Games which took place on a fine Sunday on the 30th July. New publicity ‘feathers’ organised for the Club by member Ranald Barrie were used for the first time and made our stand visible from most areas of the field. Very effective! They will flutter away in the wind at any events we are involved with in the future, marking our presence. On the day there were free balloons for youngsters with a Tombola for adults and a Lucky Lollies game for those not so old. Whilst not really a fund raising venture, around £150 was made.
We spoke to many members of the public and some Rotarians from as far away as Austral ia, America and Inverkeithing. The sun shone for most of the day but a heavy downpour around 4.15pm made us decide to call it a day so we packed up and left feeling that it had all been worthwhile.
