the 200 Pounds Of Waste Is Transformed Into A Work Of Art!
Santa Rosa, CA, ~ Madrone El- ementary School’s Green Club worked for months to prepare for a school-wide art project. Over 200 pounds of plastic bottle caps were collected from the school and extended com- munity to be used as media on a mural. On April 21st to cele- brate Earth Day, each student at Madrone helped glue caps onto
the mural to create this amaz- ing collaborative art piece. This project was dreamed up by a Madrone parent, Megan Fon- seca, who co-leads the Green Club, a free after-school club that meets each Wednesday and is open to Madrone students of all ages. A beautiful scene of Sonoma County landscape was de-
school library and will be admired by many for years to come! New construc- tion is wrapping up and existing portable
buildings will be torn down. This art is bringing lots of color to the otherwise drab building exterior and will be in direct view of the new construction,
meandering trail and fi eld. For More information Contact: Mike Herfurth, Madrone
