Tending Your Fall Garden
... continued from page 7
nettle are great and mulching helps create a rich and diverse ecosystem ‘down under’ especially for the no-dig garden. Spread well-rotted compost on all your plants always allowing 3 inches from stems to discourage rot. Don’t forget to spray seaweed solution on every- thing to promote vigorous growth and help them to handle the sum- mer heat as well. It’s time to start thinking about what to plant in your fall gardens, seeds to start, preparing pots and getting organized. If you’re pon- dering a watering system, soaker hoses and drip irrigation are the best way of getting water directly to your plants and they tuck out of the hot sun nicely under mulch. I hope summer finds you very well with your gardens, exciting travels and exploration enrich- ing your lives, color and light il- luminating everything around us. There are sparrows and tiny finches splashing in the birdbath, rustling and singing from the tippy-tops of trees, pressed against magnificent blue sky. Summer is here to dance a little longer as the seasons con- tinue to promenade.

One of my favorite frozen treats is the creamy chocolate fudgsicle. The internet provides some curious information regard- ing this frozen treats con- ception.
