Welcome to the August issue

Thank you to local schools Wimborne First (pg33), Lockyer’s Middle (pg34) and Corfe Hills (pg34) for regularly sharing your news with us – it is great to hear about the events and fundraising you have been involved in. Thanks in particular to Ellina, who wrote the article from Corfe Hills, as we are always pleased to receive articles written by the students themselves.

Welcome to some new advertisers in the Corfe Mullen Link this month: A+ Supplies (pg5) offers unique wall and floor tiles and Michael Frith (pg13) is a registered plumber with over 40 years’ experience. South Coast Windows also returns on page 17.

There are plenty of events on in August, Margaret Green Animal Rescue’s Companion Dog Show is on Sunday 6th August (pg40), the Gallery Upstairs at Upton Country Park has new exhibitions every few weeks (pg40), and the Corfe Mullen Royal British Legion’s Cider Festival is on over the Bank Holiday weekend (pg51).

If you are out and about in the countryside, Dr Bridgman shares some good advice about handling tick bites on page 32 and Hillside Vets has some summer survival tips for ensuring your pets are kept safe (pg21).

Looking ahead, there are a number of new classes starting in September. Tony is offering Tai Chi, yoga and meditation (pg13), adult swimming lessons are available at The Junction (pg19), and Tracy’s pilates classes are advertised on page 38 along with the regular Corfe Mullen Health Walk.

If you have a class, organisation or business that you would like to promote, please do get in touch – we would love to hear from you.

Until next time, Karen In this issue...
