County Councillor Update Dear Residents,


As I sit to write this, Dorset is revelling in the best summer weather – we have clear blue skies, lots of sunshine and endless sandy beaches.


I do hope the summer weather continues into the school holidays so that we can all enjoy the beaches and the seaside – remember to take funds! Beach parking has risen alarmingly in price since last year. Sadly, no longer can a trip to the beach be considered a cheap family day out.


In Corfe Mullen, the new Community Youth Club is off to a cracking good start, within a week the numbers were straight up to 50-56 per evening, showing how much a Youth Club is part of our community. We have a break now for the summer, though summer activities will be going on most weeks.


The Corfe Mullen Youth Trust is very fortunate to be a recipient of the Co-op Charity funding initiative during the summer, please make sure that you are registered as a member at the Co-op and signed into the Youth Trust as your preferred Charity until October.


We should all know how the new bus timetable will look for the Autumn very soon. Vikki Slade and I have been in consultation with the MoreBus company, who need to make substantial savings on the route of the No 3. We are optimistic that together we have ensured that the service through the village remains much the same, but we may have to accept that we lose the Express service, direct from Broadstone to the Railway Station down Broadstone Way, for much of the day outside peak hours. The bus will instead take the slightly slower route through the Waterloo Estate to the Bus Station, which means it picks up more passengers en route.
